Leon Floyd Koehn, age 82 of Moundridge, KS., passed away August 3, 2026, at NMC Health, Newton, KS. He was born to Edwin B. and Susie (Koehn) Koehn, on October 20, 1943, near Galva, KS.
He married Ruby Jane Unruh on August 16, 1964, at Lone Tree Mennonite Church, Galva, Kansas. This union was blessed with two sons and two daughters. During their lives together, they lived in Tulsa, OK, and Blacksburg, VA., Hartville, OH, and moved to Kidron, OH., in 1971, where they stayed for 20 years. They moved on to Gentry AR., from 1990 until they found themselves in Moundridge.
Leon was a dairy farmer for several years and later became a carpenter and was known to make beautiful pieces of furniture. While living in AR. he enjoyed raising chickens as well as driving truck.He was a member of the Gentry Mennonite Church, Gentry, AR.
He is survived by his children, Warren (Mary) Koehn Scio, Oregon, Shirley (Cameron) Jantz, Fredonia, Kansas, Karen (Lynn) Toews, Scio, Oregon, DeWayne (Charlene), Hiawatha, Kansas; Twenty grandchildren and Thirty-seven great-grandchildren; Brothers, Orie (Ruth) Koehn, Merle (Rebecca) Koehn; sisters, Erna (Allen) Becker, Doris (Marlin) Koehn; and brother-in-law, Orlin Becker. Ruby’s family includes Sisters, Julia and Roy Koehn, Lois and Charles Koehn; sister-in-law Elsie Unruh; and brother-in-law John Becker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby, infant great grandson, one sister, two sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law.
Viewing will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday August 9, 2026, at the Moundridge Funeral Home, viewing with family greeting friends from 6:30-8 p.m., at Gospel Mennonite Church Moundridge. Funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Monday August 10, 2026, at Gospel Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at Lone Tree Cemetery Galva, KS.
