Kevan Rai HodgesElk Falls, KS

Kevan Rai Hodges, 69, of Elk Falls, KS, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his home. Kevan was born on January 23. 1957, in Wichita, KS., the son of Jack Rai and Ruby Jean (Reneau) Hodges.

On June 26, 1982, Kevan married Kimberly A. Salmans, they then began their 43-year life journey together.

Kevan was an independent, and self-reliant person, who was an avid outdoorsman. Known as a Jack-of-all-Trades, Kevan taught himself how to do anything he didn't already know how to do. He could build and repair anything, designing buildings and making material lists all in his head. Kevan enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was known to be a great marksman. Kevan was a farmer, and a master gardener, and had extensive knowledge of trees and plants. He was a long-time member of the Kansas Grown Farmers Market, where he also served on the board for some time. Kevan raised Kansas native plants and popular perennials which he sold at the market, and was known for helping customers find the right plants for their soil. Most importantly, Kevan loved his friends and family and always enjoyed a good laugh.

Kevan was preceded in death by his parents.
