1946-2026
I fell asleep in Jesus’ arms 07/17/2026. Jesus’ hand lifted me gently to the house where I’ll abide. My birthday was celebrated March 24, 1946, in Newton, KS. My parents were Marie Dirks Loepp and Henry T. Loepp who went on before me. I have a sister Marj (Loepp) (Bernell) Barge and nephew.
My schooling was all in Hesston. Hesston Academy on Hesston College Campus was the place I met my future husband. James (Jim) Troyer and I were married and established our first home in Hesston, where we stayed 20 years. We then moved to the Detroit area for 10 years and on to Kansas City, for 20 years. 13 years ago, we circled back to Hesston. During our time out of state, I was employed as an Executive Assistant in Detroit and Kansas City.
Jim and I had two children in Hesston, Dean and Denise (Chris) Goevert. They gave us six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
My spiritual life had some bumps, but as David said in Psalm 18, and I know that Jesus has saved me from darkness into light. Jesus died and shed his blood to forgive all of us for the sins we would commit, and I believe that he rose from death in the grave and rose to heaven.
The diagnosis of MDS was a surprise. I was also surprised with the peace I had the following days. I know today, how the promise that my Lord Jesus Christ has gone before me, and my endurance today has already gone through His hands. I am grateful for the prayer warriors that God has circled around me.
As per her wishes, a Celebration of Life BBQ will be held in her honor, on August 29, 2026, at Water’s Edge Restaurant & Catering in Hesston.
