Judith Ann “Judy” Borgen, 84, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away March 6, 2026, at The Cedars, McPherson, Kansas. She was born November 24, 1941, in Lyons, the daughter of Herb and Marie (Kueser) Hawkins. Judy was a near lifelong Rice County resident. She graduated from Geneseo High School, Geneseo, Kansas, with the class of 1959 and attended Wichita Technical College for bookkeeping. Judy worked at the Rice County USDA Farm Service Agency as a program technician from 1983 until her retirement in 2011. She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and St. Paul Altar Society. Judy enjoyed country dancing. On September 30, 1961, Judy was united in marriage with David Leon Borgen in Ellsworth, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her parents; son, Steve Borgen; brother, Herb Hawkins; and sister, Sharon Madden. Judy is survived by her son, Brian Borgen and wife Mary of Tucson, AZ; two daughters, Angie Fry and husband Jeff of Manhattan, KS, and Debbie Ronning and husband Ben of Kansas City, KS; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Eric Weldon officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M., Monday, March 9, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church with family present. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 P.M. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Catholic Church in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
