Joshua Michael “Josh” Behnke, 38, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away February 3, 2026, at his home. He was born March 26, 1987, in Jackson County, Missouri, the son of Howard and Crystal (Schwerdtfeger) Behnke. Josh was a lifelong Lyons resident. He graduated from Quivira High School, Bushton, Kansas, with the class of 2006. Josh was a farmer. He was a member of Faith Bible Church, Lyons. Josh enjoyed farming, auto repair, fishing, going to the lake, and most of all spending time with his family. Josh was united in marriage with Heather Pittsley. They later divorced. He is survived by his parents; Howard and Crystal Behnke of Lyons, KS; son, Kaden Behnke of Lyons, KS; two daughters, Karah Behnke and Khloe Behnke both of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Johnathan Behnke of Larned, KS; sister, Julie Jones of Hutchinson, KS; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Josh is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Dorothy Behnke; and maternal grandparents, Leonard and Oteka Schwerdtfeger. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Faith Bible Church, Lyons, with Pastor Phil Green officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2026, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to Faith Bible Church, Lyons or Men’s Encounter, Salina in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
