Joseph L. Schaplowsky, 69, passed away on July 18, 2026. He was born on October 17, 1956.

Joe dedicated more than 42 years of service to Pepsi Cola Corporation, where he built a career marked by hard work and commitment.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Vicky Schaplowsky; his parents, Lawrence and Blanche Schaplowsky; and his sister, Mary Donaldson.

Joe is survived by his children: Andrew Schaplowsky and his wife, Kelly, along with their children, Noah, Hailey, Riley, and Elijah; Brett Schaplowsky and his wife, Emma, along with their children, Dawson and Morgan; and Jo Lynn Lane and her children, A.J., Thurston, and Scottie. He is also survived by his siblings, Alice Cross, George Schaplowsky, and Daniel Schaplowsky; four great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Joe had a deep love for dogs, enjoyed bowling, and was a devoted fan of Kansas sports teams. He will be remembered for his loyalty to his family, his dedication to his work, and the joy he found in cheering on his favorite teams and spending time with those he loved.

In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Joe’s honor to the Kansas Humane Society or the Humane Society of the United States.

A Celebration of Life will be held on what would have been Joe’s 70th birthday, Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Kiwanis Park Community Building, 5101 W. 2nd Street N. Wichita, Kansas.
