We are saddened to announce the passing of our family Matriarch, Jessie Jenks Olivier. She was born in Gentry, Arkansas, the fourth child of eight children born to Ray and Thelma Jenks. Jessie died peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer on April 2, 2026, just four days before her 90th birthday in Harper, Kansas.
From an early age, Jessie developed the strong work ethic and deep values that would guide her throughout her life. Jessie retired from a successful career in Real Estate in 2017 and settled in her hometown of Harper, Kansas where she stayed active until her death.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother Jessie believed deeply in the importance of family, the power of prayer, and the strength found in togetherness. She was known for her tireless work ethic and generous nature. She continued caring for those she loved right up until her final days. Her family was her greatest joy, and she spoke often of her love and pride for each and every one of them.
Jessie is survived by her children, Angela Olivier Snyder and Vincent Paul Olivier, grandchildren Neil, Brent, Brian, Nicole, Brandy, Brooks, Bethany and Joshua. Great-grandchildren Rowan, Aleece, Cooper, Delainey, Bronson, Everly and Mason as well as great-great grandchildren Levina and Valentine. Â Also surviving, siblings Joyce Welton, of Trinity, Tx, Karen DeShazo, of Sarasota, FL and Danny Jenks, of Kapaa, HI. and many more family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas William Olivier, brothers Doanld, Edward, Dwight and sister Marcella.
Jessie held strong to her faith and her beliefs in God, country, and family. She will be remembered as a woman of resilience, devotion, and unwavering love—a true Matriarch whose legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured.
A celebration of her life will be later details will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in their memory.
