Jana McIver
1964-2026

Jana McIver, 61, of Hutchinson, died February 28, 2026, at her home. She was born December 11, 1964, in Satanta, to Walter E. “Pete” and Clara M. (Sheffield) McIver.

Jana graduated from Satanta High School in 1983, attended Dodge City Community College, and devoted much of her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. Jana served as a compassionate caregiver at Victory Village, and had previously worked within Hutchinson Public Schools, contributing as both a custodian and a member of the kitchen staff. She also served as a custodian at the Reno County Courthouse and certified nurse’s aide in various nursing homes and hospitals.

Jana’s faith was central to her life and was evident in her servant’s heart. She was active in CrossPoint Church and lived her beliefs daily—through quiet acts of kindness and doing thoughtful things for others. Jana’s compassion extended to animals as well; she had a special place in her heart for rescuing and caring for those in need.

An avid reader, Jana also enjoyed cooking and participating in water aerobics at the YMCA.

She is survived by her sisters, Laurel Rackley of Elko, NV, Dana Eye (Dan) of Abilene, Kim Angleton (Wayne) of Cheney, Darcy Harkcom (Craig) of Pampa, TX; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Jana was preceded in death by her parents.

Per Jana’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
