James “Jimmy” Willis
1963-2026

James “Jimmy” Leslie Willis, 62, of McPherson and formerly of Hutchinson, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Jimmy was born August 21, 1963, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Van Herman and Rosemary (Pohlman) Willis. He attended Hutchinson High School.

He dedicated 16 years of service to Lowen Sign Corp. before retiring. A talented professional artist, he had a deep passion for painting and drawing and looked forward to spending even more time creating art in his retirement.

He was an amazing brother and a devoted great-uncle who treasured every moment spent with his great-nephews. His faith in God guided his life, and his strength was evident in his 27 years of sobriety.

Always willing to lend a helping hand, he touched the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and steady presence. He was truly an incredible person all the way around.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Survivors include his sister, Stormy Willis of McPherson, KS; nephew, Schuyler Willis of Hutchinson, KS; niece, Paige Berger and fiancé, Cain, of McPherson, KS; two great-nephews, Brayden and Nicholas; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Darrick Gray officiating. Burial will follow at the McPherson Cemetery.
