James D. Berry
1938-2026

James D. Berry, age 87, passed away on Apr. 6, 2026 at his home in Wichita. He was born on June 1, 1938 at Fellsburg, KS., the son of Archie C. and Bessie M. (Baker) Berry. James was a retired Aircraft Estimator and resident of Wichita since 1969. He belonged to St. Anne Catholic Church, Wichita, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, St. Vencent DePauls member & counted money for his church. He also was a volunteer for The Lord’s Diner in Wichita. James served his country in the United States Marine Corp. On Dec. 23, 1982, he married Jeanette Pauline (VanArsdale) Parr at Wichita. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Berry, Wichita; a son, David W. Berry; two step-daughters, Tammy Hendry and Rita J. (Mike) Aubuchon; two step-sons, Jeff (Shari) Parr and Gary Parr; a brother, Larry A. (Gayla) Berry; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Alan Berry; step-sons, Daniel Parr, James Crowe; brothers, Ronald, John and Elmer Berry; sisters, Shirley Wilder, Marjory Showalter, Mary Beaushaw and Martha Moore.

A rosary will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, Apr. 15, 2026 at the St. Anne Catholic Church, 2801 S. Seneca St., Wichita, KS., with Celebrant Father Ty Taylor. Mass will begin at 10:30 AM following the rosary. Burial with military honors will take place in the Belpre Cemetery, Belpre, KS., at 3:00 PM that same day. Memorial checks may be written to St. Anne Catholic Church and left in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
