After school, Jackie joined the U.S. Navy, while enlisted, he went to numerous countries, upon his return to California, in 1983, he met his wife Kimberly, after serving his country, Jackie and Kimberly returned to Fredonia and began their life together.
Jackie got hired by the City of Fredonia, where he ultimately retired from, as a supervisor for the street department, during his tenure with the city, Jackie made numerous friends. Jackie loved being outdoors, going hunting and fishing, and tinkering around in his shop. When he couldn’t be outside, he enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, and spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 4-6 pm at the funeral home, cremation will then take place, and a graveside memorial will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Fredonia City Cemetery. Memorials in his memory have been suggested to either the NRA or the Kansas Department of Wildlife Waterfowl programs and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
