Ila Joan Mangels, 89, died August 4, 2026, in Hutchinson. She was born April 4, 1937, in Hutchinson to Harold and Nadine (Arahovites) McMillan.
Joan graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1955. She worked for AT&T/Southwestern Bell before retiring in the 1990s. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and good at fashion and decorating.
On October 25, 1957, Joan married Darrel Mangels. They were married 59 years before his passing in 2017.
Joan is survived by her: daughter, Melody (Larry) Probst of Hutchinson; grandsons, Gary (April) Wisecarver and Jesse Wisecarver of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Brycen (Alyssa), Jadyn (Colton), and Cody (Cali) Wisecarver of Hutchinson; and great-great-grandchildren, Andy and Aspen Wisecarver. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Michael McMillan.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family inurnment.
