2005-2026
Ike Morgan Bauer, 21, passed away January 26, 2026 at McPherson Hospital, McPherson, KS surrounded by family and friends.
He was born January 19, 2005 in McPherson, the son of Dave and Courtney (Trotter) Bauer.
Ike attended Eisenhower Elementary School and graduated from McPherson High School in 2023. He then attended Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, KS.
Through the years Ike worked at Dillions, Main Street Deli and as a CNA at McPherson Hospital. After experiencing such compassionate care from hospital staff, he was inspired to pursue a career in nursing. Ike also enjoyed watching sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.
Cael and Finn will forever miss their brother. For this close-knit trio, Ike was your typical middle child. He was adaptable, easygoing, and resilient. Ike knew how to keep the peace and knew how to stir the pot when needed. He was often the funniest one of the three and he pretended not to care, while caring the most.
Ike had many meaningful experiences throughout his short life. He had the opportunity to live a summer in Italy and sail island-to-island in the Bahamas on a catamaran captained by his grandpa. Springs and summers were also filled with numerous trips to Table Rock Lake with thrilling, wild tubing adventures, and trips to Disney World, Costa Rica, and Mexico. There were also trips with grandparents exploring throughout Kansas. Ike loved attending sports games at Allen Field House, KU Memorial Stadium, and Arrowhead Stadium. Ike was excited to watch Hadlee’s team (KSU) go down against KU on Saturday. Rock Chalk!
He is survived by, his loving parents, Dave and Courtney Bauer; brothers, Finn and Cael Bauer, all of McPherson.; grandparents, Dr. RC and Mary Trotter of Dodge City, KS and Emmett and Pat Bauer of McPherson; aunts and uncles, Shannon Hare of Florida, Seth and Jennifer Trotter of Missouri, Matt Bauer of McPherson, and James and Stacy Bauer of Nebraska; cousins, Brenton, Alex, Maia, Max, Teagan, Gavyn, and Hayden.
Most important to Ike were his always-present buddies. These relationships go back as far as daycare and up through college. Recently, when asked if he could do anything or go anywhere, he said, “I’d want to hang out with the guys.” During his last weekend, while he was feeling his best in months, Ike’s hospital room was full of friends well into the night. They ate fast food, watched sports, and giggled for hours. Even when Ike couldn’t do what they could or be where they were, his friends always made time for him in their lives. Those friends include, Hadlee, Gavin, Jaret, Chase, Layne, Dawson M., Dawson F., Luke, Josh, Zaden, Conner, Kayden, Noah, Tucker, Treyton, Sam, Hunter, and Jordan, and many more.
Ike had an incredible sense of humor and was one of a kind. He had the ability to make anyone laugh. Through all the health struggles, he never complained. He was a bright beacon throughout all the battles he faced.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026 at New Hope Evangelical Church, McPherson, with Pastor George Bocox officiating.
Memorial may be made to the Ike Bauer Memorial Fund, in care of Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home, 222 W Euclid St., McPherson, KS 67460.
