Harold Lee Shearer, 79, of Raymond, Kansas, passed away December 27, 2025, at Hospice House of Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born November 4, 1946, in Canton, Ohio, the son of Pat and Alma (Nevius) Shearer. Harold has resided in Raymond for the past four years, formerly of Scandia and Courtland, Kansas. He attended Canton South High School, Canton, Ohio. Harold received his degree in Architectural Working-Drawings for Sprinkler Fitters from Pennsylvania State University. He worked seventeen years in the fire sprinkler industry. After serving a five-year apprenticeship program, he became superintendent of field installation and shop fabrication of sprinkler systems. Harold installed sprinkler systems in warehouses, high rise buildings, parking garages and apartment complexes. He also was a foreman of pipe crews for wastewater and treatment plants. Harold served in the United States Army during the Korean War from August 4, 1964 until August 3, 1970. He also served in the Florida Army National Guard and the Texas Army National Guard. Harold was awarded a certificate of appreciation from the State of Florida for serving during the refugee crisis during April and May of 1980. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Ohio State and Browns football fan. On July 18, 1969, Harold was united in marriage with Martha Jane Dean in Bainbridge, Florida. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2024. He is also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Keefer; and great-granddaughter, Serena Simon. Harold is survived by his son, Christopher Robert Shearer of FL; daughter, Lesa Plinske of Raymond, KS; four grandchildren, Amanda Vaughn (David) of FL, Brittany Gray of Ellsworth, KS, Sierra Hoffman (Andrew) of Houston, TX, and Colby Shearer of AL; and eight great-grandchildren, Johnlee, Jasper, Aurora, Alick, Owen, Edith, Mabel, and Lakelynn Kapri.
