Glenda was the beloved daughter of Eugene and Betty Bernadine Yarnell and shared her early years with her siblings, the late Grace Cathey and Robbie McAlexander, as well as her surviving siblings, Linda Cawthorn, Lonnie Yarnell, and Pauline Fuller. Her roots in Erie provided her with a strong foundation of love and family values, which she carried with her throughout her life.

A proud graduate of Erie High School, Glenda embarked on a career that showcased her talents and versatility. She worked diligently at National Garment as a seamstress and later applied her skills at Hi-Lo Industries as a programmer. Her work ethic and dedication were admired by her colleagues and friends alike.

In her personal life, Glenda was a devoted mother to her surviving daughter, Shelly (Richard) Tripp. She faced the heart-wrenching loss of her son, Steven Dale Wheeler, and her grandchild, J.T. Wheeler, with remarkable strength and grace. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished her six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, nurturing each generation with love and wisdom.

Glenda had a passion for life that was evident in her hobbies and interests. She was an avid gardener, finding joy in nurturing plants and sharing her bountiful harvest through her love of canning and cooking. Her kitchen was always open to family and friends, and she delighted in ensuring everyone was well-fed and happy. Glenda’s interest in genealogy connected her with her roots and allowed her to share stories of the past with her loved ones.

Though Glenda and Johnny Wheeler parted ways in 1981, she carried the lessons and love from their marriage throughout her life. Her capacity for forgiveness and understanding was a testament to her character.

Glenda’s legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family. Her gentle spirit and hearty laughter will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Glenda’s life and memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Glenda’s lifelong dedication to helping others.

In celebrating Glenda's life, we remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was a gift to all, and her spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
