Gladdeen Nightingale, 82, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away at the Moundridge Manor on May 14, 2026. She was born to Albert and Gladys (Koehn) Schneider on July 23, 1943, near Hesston, Kansas, and was a member of the Lone Tree Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.

Gladdeen married Galen Nightingale on March 22, 1963, at Hesston, Kansas. They made their home near Galva and shared life together for nearly 54 years. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2016.

His occupation as a custom harvester spanned many years, and Gladdeen prepared hundreds of meals for the workers. In her later years, she thoroughly enjoyed her job as a dietary aid at the Manor. She retired at 80 years of age.

She leaves behind her children, Brenda (Keith) Koehn of Moundridge, Craig (Joanna) Nightingale, and Chad (Tara) Nightingale, all of Galva; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Evon Schneider, Moundridge; and brothers, Clayton (Loretta) Schneider, Granbury, Texas, and Dale Schneider, Ellinwood, Kansas.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Galen; her parents; one infant brother, Gladwin; one sister, Ruth Ewy; one brother-in-law, Jerry Ewy; and one sister-in-law, Terry Schneider.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 18, 2026, at Suncrest Mennonite Church, rural Galva, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Lone Tree Church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 17, at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Suncrest Mennonite Church.
