Gertrude Ellen Strutt/Peacock/Morgan 87 years old of Marion, Ks. passed away January 14th at Parkside Homes. She was born June 4, 1938 to Theodore and Sarah (Cadoret) Strutt in Rural Osborne county Kansas.
She married John William (Bill) Peacock on February 13, 1956 in Stockton, Kansas. He passed away in 1993. She married Howard Morgan on May 26, 1995 on a farm near Canton, Kansas.
Gertrude left home to work out to help support her parents. She cared for children, did household chores and farm chores. After her marriage, she took in ironing and cared for other peoples children while raising her own.
She worked at Webster Supermarket in Stockton for 16 years, then began working in nursing homes and hospitals in Hanover, Ks and Hoisington, Ks. Â After marriage to Howard, she worked at nursing homes in Hillsboro, including 10 yearts at Parkside Home, and a year at Shiloh Manor Canton.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, brothers Dean, Joe and Francis, and a sister Bernice a son Kendall a daughter in law Bonnie Peacock and a sister in law Ada Strutt. She is survived by Howard of the home, a sister Judy (Tom) Butler of Enid, Ok., sons Wendell (Diana) Peacock of Ada, Ks, Randall (Karan) Peacock of Great Bend, Ks, stepdaughters Angela (Dustin) Young of Tonganoxie, Ks and Pamela (Todd) Carley of Olathe, Ks and sister in laws Clara Strutt of Stockton, Ks and Bonnie Strutt of Lincoln, Ks and 7 grand children, and 6 great grand children.
