George Lawrence Weber, Sr.Great Bend, KS

George Lawrence Weber, Sr. 81, passed away surrounded by family March 24, 2026, in Great Bend, Kansas. He was born May 22, 1944, to George William and Lydia (Schwartz) Weber in Willowdale, Kansas. George married Ruth Ann Watkins May 5, 1962. She passed away October 10, 2021.

George was a longtime resident of Great Bend. He owned and operated, along with his brother Eugene, Weber Brothers House Moving for more than 35 years. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a jack of all trades and, given a task, got it done. He loved to be in the outdoors, whether it was hunting, camping, or fishing. He was a member of American Plot Hound Association and a proud NRA member.

Survivors include sons, George Jr. (Zola), James “Jimmie” (Tiara) both of Great Bend; a daughter, Theresa Weber of Great Bend; daughter in law, Sarah Weber of Bushton; brother, Don Weber (Barb) of Tex.; sisters, Judy Schroeder (Robert) of Lincoln, Kan., Marilyn “Fuzzy” Chansler (Mike) of Great Bend, Denise Walton (Jim) of Stafford, Jolene Schridde (Calvin “Butch”) of Great Bend; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charlie Weber; grandson, Justin Weber; great grandson, Michael Lee Morgan; brothers, Eugene Weber, Eddie Weber; sister, Joyce “Koonie” Pugh; brother-in-law, Dave Pugh; sister in laws, Vickie Weber and Georgina Weber.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., March 27, 2026, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation is available from 10:00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m., March 26, 2026, with a Rosary and Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials may be made out to Gentiva Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
