Ernest Earl Reed passed away peacefully at his home in Jetmore, Kansas, on February 16, 2026.
He was born in Dodge City on June 23, 1944, the son of Earl and Mildred (McConachie) Reed and was raised in Jetmore. Lived briefly in Oklahoma and Nebraska before settling in Colorado. He returned to Jetmore in 1985 to care for his aging parents and remained in Jetmore for the rest of his life.
He is survived by his children: Tamara Zayas and her husband Joe, Tonya Sykes and her husband Bill, Anthony Reed and his wife Jeannine, Tyler Reed and his wife Leslee; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He loved his family and made sure to attend the important events in their lives. A peaceful man that collected unique items for enjoyment and appreciated the simple things in life. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life open house will take place on Saturday March 28th, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Beckwith Funeral Home in Jetmore Kansas.
