Elmer Richard LendoBurlington, KS

Elmer Richard Lendo, 88, of rural Burlington, KS, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS.

Elmer was born April 9, 1937, at Burlington, the son of Nordie and Pauline (Wood) Lendo.

The family lived on a farm south-west of LeRoy until moving to the farm north-west of Burlington in 1946.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lonnie Lendo.

He leaves a son, Mark Sharpe of Independence, KS,  two sisters, Evelyn McGuffey, Batesville, AR, and Donna Whitehead, Eureka.

Through out the years he served in the Army, was a self-employed truck driver, and worked for Penny’s concrete.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and camping.

Cremation is planned with inurnment in Bowman-Adgate Cemetery northwest of Burlington at a later date.
