Eileen May Ingersoll
1929-2026

Eileen May Ingersoll, 97, passed away April 7, 2026, at Brookdale Assisted Living, in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born April 4, 1929, in Warrick County, Indiana to Walter and Laura (Nordhorn) Rauth. She married Robert "Bob" F. Ingersoll August 4, 1951, in St. Petersburg, Florida.  He passed away August 23, 2020.

Eileen graduated from Bosse High School, then attended Butler University for 3 years in Indianapolis, Ind. Eileen resided in Evansville, Ind. for twenty years, then moved to St. Petersburg Fla. for five years, before making Great Bend her home in 1955. She worked for Southwest Kansas Nutrition Program as a head cook and nutritionist for the Great Bend Senior Center, as well as being active in her and Bob’s upholstery shop, Ingersoll’s Auto Trim and Upholstery. Eileen was a member of First United Methodist Church and was involved in various Methodist women’s groups and church leadership roles. She held memberships with the CKMC Auxiliary, Good Sam Club and American Legion Auxiliary. During her children’s formative years, Eileen volunteered as a cub scout leader, girl scout leader and 4-H leader, and treasured time spent camping and making memories with her family.

Survivors include son, Steven Ingersoll of Topeka; daughters, Cindy Rodie and her husband Bruce of Hoisington, Karen Boles and her husband Greg of Wichita; grandchildren, Adam Ingersoll (Eva), Douglas Ingersoll, Nolan Ingersoll (Erin), Ryan Rodie (Christen), Kaitlyn Pearson (Jacob), Austin Boles (fiancée Julia Edmondson); great grandchildren, Azalea Ingersoll, Maverick Pearson, Norine Rodie; daughter-in-law of 37 years, Lori Ingersoll; sister-in-law, Mitzi Rauth of Florida. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; and brother, Kenneth Rauth.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Selvakumar presiding. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Claflin Cemetery. Visitation is available from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, with family receiving guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials may be made out to First United Methodist Church or Gentiva Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
