Edward William Elam, 75, passed away July 31, 2026 at his home, Dodge City, Kansas.
He was born May 11, 1951, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Martha Elam.
Longtime area resident of Dodge City. Before his work as Ford County Administrator in Doge City, he was the city manager in Mulvane, Kansas and Chariton, Iowa. He was a licensed land surveyor in Kansas, Iowa, and Colorado, was a member of the Kansas Land Surveying Association and AOPA flying club and he loved to travel.
On September 12, 2013, he married Charlene Stalling in Grand Cayman; she survives.
Other survivors include; two sons, Chad (Barb) Elam, Sparks, Nevada, and Preston Elam, Panora, Iowa; two step-children, Dustin (Melissa) Fagen, Jetmore, and Aubrey Grieshaber, Manhattan; ten grandchildren, Alexis, Andrew, Colby, William, Blade, Aspen, Leah, Emma, Rylan, and Grasce; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and son William “Billy” Elam.
Memorial graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore with Pastor Jeff Heirs presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2026 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Please join the family following the graveside service at I Don’t Care Family Restaurant and Sports Bar, 1510 W Spruce Street, Dodge City, Kansas, for a celebration of life service and lunch.
