Dr. Robert George Franz, 92 of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Hillsboro Community Hospital.
He was born October 19, 1933 in Henderson, NE to George and Mary (Wiens) Franz. He graduated from Enid High School, Enid, Oklahoma, attended Tabor College, Hillsboro, KS, and graduated from Phillips University, Enid, OK and University of Oklahoma School of Medicine, Oklahoma City, OK. Internship and Surgery Residency, Gorges Hospital Panama Canal Zone, Panama. He was a Family Physician having his own practice from 1964 to 1984 in Hillsboro and later joined a group practice from 1985 to 2000 at Southwest Medical Center, Oklahoma City, OK. He married Darlene Faye Becker in June 12, 1959 in Grand Island, Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Cheryl (Terry) Hagen of Hillsboro and Kimberly (Doug) Walker of Manhattan, Kansas, four grand children and two great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, George and Mary Franz, and two brothers, Roger Abie and George Leroy.
