Donna LaVerne Tripp, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 20, 1939, in Vilas, Kansas, to James Ray and LaVerne Albine (Storey) Boan.

On October 27, 1956, Donna married the love of her life, Charles Richard Tripp, embarking on a journey of love and partnership that spanned nearly seven decades. Together they built a family that was the center of her world. Donna is survived by her devoted husband, Charles, and her loving children: Ronda Dee (Tripp) Cotton, Charles Vincent Tripp, Richard Allan Tripp, and Jason Matthew Tripp. She was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Donna was predeceased in death by her parents, James Boan and LaVerne (Story) Miller, Step-father, Charles W Miller, her siblings Lewis (Joe) Boan, Leona Lee Hannsen, and Naomi Nadine Bluma. She is survived by her brother, Albert (Jack) Boan.

Donna's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an adventurous spirit that touched everyone she met.

Donna's warmth and generosity were evident in every corner of her life. She ran a daycare, where she nurtured and cared for countless children as if they were her own, leaving an indelible mark on many young lives. Her career was more than a job; it was a calling that showcased her boundless compassion and unwavering patience.

A devoted member and Deaconess of the Living Church of God for over fifty years, Donna's faith was a guiding light that inspired her family and community. Her commitment to her church and her faith was a testament to her character and values, which she instilled in her family and shared with those around her.

Donna was the cornerstone of all family gatherings, her presence a source of comfort and joy. Her love for quilting and gardening was well-known, and her creations were cherished gifts to many. Her quilts told stories, woven with care and love, while her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, blooming vibrantly under her attentive care.

One of Donna's greatest passions was riding motorcycles, a hobby she shared with her husband. Together, they explored 49 states, creating memories and collecting stories that would be retold with laughter and love at family gatherings. Her adventurous spirit inspired those around her to embrace life's journey with enthusiasm and courage.

As we celebrate Donna's life, we remember her as a woman of strength, love, and kindness. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and in the lives of all those she touched with her gentle spirit. Donna will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever be a guiding light for all who knew her.

A graveside service to honor Donna's life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas 66720 on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 10:00am, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life and bid farewell to a truly extraordinary woman.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home 101 N Highland Ave. Chanute, Kansas 66720. Memorial can be made in Donna’s name to the Living Church of God and can be left with the funeral home.
