DeWayne Whitcher, 62, passed away on April 23, 2026 at his residence in McPherson, KS.
DeWayne was born on February 21, 1964 in Ellsworth, KS to Hubert D. and Sharon (Kratzer) Whitcher.
He attended McPherson Grades Schools and McPherson High School.
DeWayne was united in marriage to Renee Marie Smith in McPherson. Renee passed away in 2006.
Through the years, DeWayne worked in Wichita as a Heating & Air Technician, worked in Colorado excavating for Gems on Mount Princeton, and was a owner-operator of Whitcher Auto Repossession. DeWayne moved back to McPherson in 2021.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycles, trail riding with his brother, Paul in the Colorado Mountains, 4-wheeling, boating, and spending time with his friends and family.
DeWayne is survived by his mother Sharon Whitcher, of McPherson and son, Brandon Smith, of McPherson.
DeWayne is preceded in death by his father, Hubert, his wife, Renee and his brother, Paul.
A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2026 at McPherson Cemetery with Pastor John Pattison officiating.
