Daniel Lee Johnson, 67, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at Veranda Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Harlingen, TX, after a brave battle with health issues. Daniel, Dan as known by his family and friends, was born in Ottawa on June 17, 1959, to Leon Johnson and Sharon Gregg Johnson

Dan graduated from Melvern High School. He loved to play golf, followed KC Chiefs and KU Jayhawks sports. He was also in an 8 Ball league in Harlingen. He was employed at Bud’s Quality Plumbing for 20+ years.

Dan is survived by: his father and stepmother, Leon and Rose Johnson of Burlington; mother, Sharon Gregg Johnson Gulyban of La Feria, TX; brothers, Marty Johnson (Glyna) of Harlingen, TX, David Johnson (Colleen) of Ashland, VA; three step-brothers, Richard Sharp (Tammy), Robert Sharp (Paula), Shawn Sharp (Laura); step-sister, Glenda Bunkofske; 3 nephews; 2 nieces; one great niece; aunt, Sheila O’rear (Bud); and cousins, Sandy O’rear Magouirk (Mark) and Gary O’rear.

Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Frances Johnson, Verlin and Leona Gragg; brother, Eric Johnson; and step-father, John Gulyban.

Memorial graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Melvern Cemetery, with Reverend Jay Hale officiating. Jones Funeral Home, Burlington, is assisting the family.
