Christopher Gerald “Chris” StropsLyons, KS

Christopher Gerald “Chris” Strops, 56, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away March 14, 2026, at his home. He was born March 29, 1969, at the Crenshaw County Hospital, Luverne, Alabama, the son of Walter Ray and Geraldine (Owens) Strops. Chris has resided in Lyons for the past nine years, formerly of Alabama. He graduated from Dozier High School. Chris worked as a natural gas pipe liner for twenty-five years. He enjoyed cooking, grilling on his Treager grill, deer hunting, traveling and most of all spending time with family and friends. On January 14, 2023, Chris was united in marriage with Ashlei Ramirez in Lyons. Chris is survived by his wife, Ashlei Strops of Lyons, KS; five children, Cody Strops (Kelly) of Andalusia, AL, Courtney Paulk (Tyler) of Andalusia, AL, Gage Jarvis (Bailey Halsey) of McPherson, KS, Seth Jarvis of Sedalia, MO, and Kirah Jarvis of Larned, KS; five siblings, Wanda Norris (Perry), Deborah Walker, Pamela Brownell (Carmon), Rita Brown (Douglas), Alfred Ray Strops (Pam) all of AL; seven grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Dozer. Chris is preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, April Davis. Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Celebration Centre with Melinda Moore officiating. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
