Christopher Bowen
1990-2026

Christopher Bowen, 36, passed away on May 25, 2026, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Chris was born on March 11, 1990, in Garnett to Jackie Bowen. He grew up in Garnett and attended school there, building lifelong friendships.

Chris was known for his strong work ethic and caring heart. He spent time working in the oil fields before pursuing a career in healthcare, where he found his true passion in helping others. He was deeply dedicated to the residents he cared for and took great pride in making a difference in their lives through compassion, kindness, and hard work.

Outside of work, Chris enjoyed fishing, cooking, and experimenting with recipes on his smoker, often making homemade salsa, jerky, and even dog treats. He loved animals and especially enjoyed visiting the zoo. Chris found peace and happiness in the quiet of the countryside and treasured the simple moments spent outdoors.

Family meant everything to Chris. He was always there to help his mother with any task she needed, never hesitating to lend a hand.

Chris shared a loving relationship with Savannah, whom he first met as a friend. Their bond quickly grew into a deep and lasting love, and they would have celebrated five years together in August. From the very beginning, they were inseparable and built a life together filled with love and companionship. Although Chris and Savannah did not have children, they shared a special bond with their beloved pets - their two cats, Nacho and Randall, and their snake, Lieutenant Dan.

Chris will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love for people and animals, his sense of humor, and the warmth he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chris is survived by mother, Jackie Bowen and Mary Jo Stifter of Richmond, Kansas; brother, Pete Bowen of Pomona, Kansas; nieces and nephew, Aiden, Kiara, Cassidy Bowen; wife, Savannah of Ottawa, Kansas.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Prairie Paws and can be left in the care of the funeral home.
