1949-2026

Bridget J. Habiger, passed away June 11, 2026, at St. Joe Hospital, Denver, Colorado. She was born May 5, 1949, at St. Rose Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Lawrence Habiger and Kathryn Orth Habiger. Bridget is survived by her sisters, Marguerite Feist (Mike) of Ellinwood, KS, and Zoe Miner (Mike) of Atchinson, KS. She attended Holy Name Catholic Grade School and graduated from Bushton High School, with the class of 1967. Bridget enjoyed her years in the Bushton Boosters 4-H Club of Rice County. She attended Hutchinson Community College and graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. While at KSU, she pledged Alpha Delta Phi social society. After college, Bridget decided to make Denver, CO, her home. She worked at the downtown YMCA, until it closed. It was there that her passion for running five miles a day was born. She promoted a healthy diet. After the Y, she became manager of a company that promoted products in major grocery stores. She loved watching sports, especially the Denver Broncos. Bridget enjoyed the company of a pet kitten. Her current pet was Gracie. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 24, 2026, Holy Name Catholic Church, Bushton, with Father Bob Pinninti officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Name Cemetery, Bushton. Memorials may be given to a local humane society of your choice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
