Hillsboro - Asher Lear Hein, 12, passed away April 1, 2026. Â He was born November 2, 2013 in Aurora Colorado. Asher Lear Hein was born November 2, 2013, in Aurora, Colorado. At a young age, the family moved to Haven, Kansas. In 2020, Asher moved with his family to Hillsboro, where he made many memories.
He loved playing outdoors with his brothers, fishing with his dad, riding four-wheelers, and going to the lake with family and friends.
He was an exceptional student, excelling in math and science. He enjoyed learning a variety of math topics, specifically pre-calculus. He loved solving rubik’s cubes, playing on the Hillsboro Middle School Chess team, playing disc golf, and gaming (especially Geometry Dash, Minecraft, and Gorilla Tag on VR).
In 2024, Asher faced a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes with remarkable courage and resilience, proudly mastering the responsibility of managing his insulin independently. His determination and strength were an inspiration to all who knew him.
He passed away April 1, 2026.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, David Bartley and great-grandfather Leonard Hein.
He is survived by his parents, Andrew & Sarah; brothers Aaron & Eli, and step-brother Dallas; grandparents Gloria Bartley, and Kevan & Vicki Hein; great-grandma Hazel Hein; Loving aunts and uncles Laura & Josh Hansen, Adam & Kayla Bartley, John & Katie Hein, Tony & Brandi Hein, Monica & Dan Donatelli, and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on April 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to a scholarship fund established for Aaron and Eli.
