1926-2026
Ardith M. Hansen, 100, went to be with her Lord Jesus April 7, 2026.
She was born Feb. 20, 1926 near Ensign, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer and Lula Nichols Gardner. They moved to Ensign in August of 1926. That was her home until she married. She attended high school at Ensign for two years and two years at Fowler, graduating in 1941. She attended Christian College in McPherson, Kansas for a short time.
On April 24, 1943, she married Clifford Hansen at West Douglas Church of Christ in Wichita. They made their home on the family farm near Penalosa, Kansas. They celebrated 63 year of marriage. Clifford died in 2006.
Ardith is survived by one son Stanley and wife Janet; son-in-law John Steffen; son-in-law Mike Harper; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son Charles Rex; daughters Barbara Steffen and Marsha Harper; brothers Carrol and Orel; sisters and brothers-in-laws Grace and Paul Wegley, Gevene and Caleb Sutton, Eunice and Kenny Padgett; sister-in-law Barbara and brother-in-law Bob Glascock; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Francis Hansen; sister-in-law Pat Denney; and nephew Gary Wegley.
Ardith was a one of a kind true woman of Christ. She was a true example of what hospitality means. She loved everyone with the love of her Lord and Savior. She was the caretaker for her in-laws until their passing and then her nephew Gary Wegley. She was also a retired nurse’s aide at Donley Clinic. She was a member of the Penalosa Church of Christ.
Services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2026 at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hoosier Cemetery.
