Ann K. Cordero, 82, of South Hutchinson, died surrounded by her family January 15, 2026, at McPherson Center for Health. She was the second oldest daughter of 18 children, born June 19, 1943, in Plattsburg, MO, to George and Nellie (Mallen) Zimmerman.
In 1970, while in Emporia, Ann met the love of her life, Ismael Cordero. In May 1974, they were married in Liberal. They shared nearly 50 beautiful years of marriage before his death January 6, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and her legacy will continue. Ann loved her family and the Lord.
Ann was born to be a mother; she poured all her love into her family. Ann was a brilliant cook and made the best Mexican American food around. Ismael taught her how to speak Spanish, making her bilingual, and she taught Ismael all about the English language and customs. Ann adored being in the sunshine, cutting coupons, garage sales, flowers, and above all else she cherished her family.
Ann is survived by her: beloved children, Debbie (Jesus) Vasquez of Hutchinson, Sandra (Lamont) Wells of Garden City, Chris Cordero of South Hutchinson, Angie (Adrian) Gonzalez of Salina, and Becky Cordero (Angel Pineda) of Hutchinson; siblings, Charlene, Pat, Martha, Paulette, Hallie, Barbara, Michelle, Mary, Wanda, Wayne, Jimmy, Larry, and Paul; 26 adored grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, cherished husband, Ismael Cordero, and daughter, Lisa Ramirez; siblings, George, Gregory, Brad, and Diane.
Parish Rosary will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson. Mass Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church, both officiated by Father Eric Weldon. Burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson with meal to follow at Madonna Hall, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson. Friends may call from 12 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
