1949-2026
Anita “Kay” Sipe, 76, died March 6, 2026, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born August 23, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Clinton Dorel, Sr. and Gladys Juanita (Parkhurst) Thrasher.
Kay graduated from Fairfield High School in 1968. She worked as a school cook for Fairfield (USD 310). Kay loved her family; she enjoyed cooking for them and attending her grandchildren’s events. She also liked to sew and made many quilts throughout the years. Kay was a member of Partridge Community Church.
On December 27, 1967, she married Richard Lee Sipe, in Arlington.
Kay is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Richard Sipe, of Arlington; children, Michael (Stacey) Sipe of Louisville, KY; Kevin (Sarah) Sipe of South Hutchinson; Lisa (Chris) Kaufmann of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tessa, Delaney (Bryce), Jarron (Jackie), Brant, Tenley and Peyton; and great-grandchildren, Saylor and Witt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clint Thrasher, Jr.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Jim French officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service Thursday. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice House, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
