Andy Miller
1946-2026

Andy S. Miller, age 80, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at his home.

Born on March 10, 1946, in McMinnville, Oregon, he was the seventh of seven children born to Sam B. and Wilma (Fry) Miller. When he was six years old, his family moved to Kansas. Andy often reminisced with fondness about sitting in a box on the bulldozer while his dad pushed out trees, and he shared memories of many childhood adventures with his siblings, noting that they were never bored.

On November 21, 1968, Andy was united in marriage to Susan T. Yoder in Garnett, Kansas, and together they were blessed with eleven children.

A lifelong farmer and dairy farmer, Andy was a loving father and grandfather who found joy in the outdoors. Before having his own children, he frequently took his nieces and nephews hunting and fishing-a tradition he happily continued with his own children and grandchildren, especially enjoying catching crappie. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as "Andy Daudy." He also cherished traveling back to Oregon to visit his sister, trips where no visit was complete without fishing, watching the boats on the ocean, and eating fresh boysenberries, sweet cherries, smoked salmon, and crab.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Wilma Miller; his beloved wife, Susan Miller, on January 27, 1990; his daughter, Rosia Hershberger; his daughter-in-law, Rebecca Miller; his brother-in-law, Lloyd Beachy; and five of his siblings: Melvin Miller, Ida Yoder, Katie Yoder, Sylvia Yoder, and Alvin Miller.

Andy is survived by his ten children: Sam Miller and wife Melinda, Marcus Miller and wife Irene, Becky Miller and husband Vernon, Debbie Miller and husband David, Kenneth Miller and wife Rebecca, Daniel Miller and wife Velma, Eugene Miller, Loretta Miller and husband Lavern, Veralene Stifter and husband Jeff, Lorinda Yoder and husband Vernon, and son in law, Gene Hershberger; forty-seven grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren; his sister, Lydia Beachy; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Amish Community Building, 18240 NW 1800 Rd, Garnett, Kansas, with burial to follow in the Amish Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the Amish Community Building on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with an Amish wake service beginning at 8:00 PM.
