1947-2026

Albert William “Bill” Miller Jr., 78, of Hutchinson, died June 3, 2026, at his home. He was born December 12, 1947, in Longview, Washington, to Albert W. and Roberta D. (Byrum) Miller Sr.

Bill graduated from Hillsboro, Oregon, High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971 and achieved the rank of EN3 before being honorably discharged. Bill worked many jobs over the years, most notably as a lumber mill operator with his father and in sales. He also did plumbing and tile work, remodeling kitchens and bathrooms. Bill enjoyed fishing, woodworking, stained glasswork, and four-wheeling on his ATV. He was of the Southern Baptist faith.

On March 25, 1972, Bill married Peggy Jeanette Morehouse in Hillsboro, Oregon. They shared over 54 years of marriage.

He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; children, James Miller (Amy) of Ellis, John Miller (Kimberly) of Wichita, Julienne Miller Erwin of Valley Center, Justin Miller (Ashley) of Lehi, Utah; brother, Dan Miller of Portugal; sisters, Gerry Morehouse (Scott) of Portland, OR, Betty Jean Miller of Heyburn, ID; uncle, Bobby Byrum (Judy) of Castle Rock, WA; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer; son, Jason; and sister, Rose Long.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American SIDS Institute, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
