Andover, Kan. – The Tiger Men’s golf team teed it up at Terradyne Golf Course in Andover, Kansas for the Lark Invitational hosted by Hesston College. The Men played 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
In round one, as a team, the Tigers put together a solid round of 310, with Avery Pearson leading the charge with a 73. Payton Benneweis was close behind with a 76 of his own. The second 18 of the day saw the Tigers improve from round one, carding a 306 as a team. Payton Benneweis led the Tigers in the second round with a 1-under par 70. On Tuesday, the Tigers continued their stellar play against a great field as they shot one of their lowest rounds of the season. They closed with a 296 that featured a 2-under 69 and a 1-over 72. As a team, the Tigers would finish in 7th place out of 14 teams.
Individually, Avery Pearson paced the Tigers finishing with a total score of 216 with rounds of 73, 74, and 69. He finished T2nd individually overall. Payton Benneweis finished T4 with a total score of 218 with rounds of 76, 70, and 72.
