Turnovers spurn Swede Men’s basketball as they fall 95-78

North Newton, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Men’s Basketball team took the road to North Newton, Kan. to take on the Bethel College Threshers in their conference matchup before Thanksgiving break.

Bethany trailed just 40–36 at the half and continued to battle early in the second frame before turnovers and defensive lapses opened the door for the Threshers. The Swedes would fall 95-78

Curtis Stovall III was the offensive spark for the Swedes, pouring in a game-high 29 points on 6-of-16 shooting while knocking down five three-pointers and going an impressive 12-of-13 at the free-throw line. Keddric Mays II added 13 points, seven assists, and six rebounds, while Milton Kpehe delivered a strong interior presence with eight points and a team-leading 11 rebounds.

As a team, the Swedes committed 21 turnovers, several of them unforced, which the Threshersl converted into 25 points on the other end. On the bright side, Bethany shot 90.5% from the free throw line which is the best since 2022 with at least 15 attempts.
