McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College of Kansas Men’s Volleyball team was back in action as they faced the Missouri Baptist University Spartans at home on Friday. The Tigers, in search of their first win of the season welcomed the Spartans to McPherson.

The Tigers hung with the Spartans early as midway through the first set the Tigers only trailed 14-13. The Spartans would go on an 11-5 run to capture the first set 25-18. Central continued to battle during the second set as they knotted up the set at 22-22 but the Spartans would pull away with three straight points to capture the second set, 25-22.

Down 2-0, the Tigers looked to rally but the depth of Missouri Baptist proved to overwhelm the Tigers as an early run in the third set would all but seal the match. The Spartans scored a blistering eight points in a row and their lead in the set continued to grow as they were up 17-5 as the Tigers battled back. Taking advantage of Spartan errors and getting kills of their own, the Tigers clawed back but would fall in the set 25-13 and drop the match in straight sets.

The Tigers (0-8), will now gear up for a triangular at Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday. The games will be streamed on the Coyote Sports Network of Kansas Wesleyan University.
