McPherson, Kan. – The Tigers were at home last night against eh Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies looking to carry over the momentum from their first conference win of the season last Saturday.
The Aggies came out hot to start the game making 6 three pointers in just under 6 minutes to begin the game. The Tigers had to counter and would keep themselves in the game all half despite the hot start from the Aggies, giving up just 15 more points in the half from that point on trailing 33-32 at the break.
The Tigers started to really get things going in the 2nd half and tightened up on defense, allowing only 1 Aggie three pointer in the half. The Tigers were also very good rebounding the ball and from the line shooting 83.3% in the 2nd half and 86.4% on the game. This allowed the Tigers to pull away from the Aggies down the stretch and ultimately win the game by a score of 68-56. Four Tigers players scored double digit points in the game, Jevarrick Butler with 17 points as well as 11 rebounds, Jaeden Whitten with 16, Chris Whitten with 11, and Andruw Rondon with 11.
The Tigers are now 7-5 (2-4) on the season and will look to carry the momentum of back to back conference wins into another home contest against Wayland Baptist University tomorrow afternoon. The game is scheduled to tip off at 3:45pm and will be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
