Wichita, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Women’s Soccer team faced Friends University on Saturday morning, September 27, in their third KCAC conference match of the season. The Swedes entered the game with a short roster, having only 12 players available due to injuries sustained during their midweek match against Central Christian College.

Despite the difficult circumstances, the Swedes started well in the first 10–12 minutes, defending with determination and keeping the match competitive. Friends opened the scoring in the 13th minute, followed by another goal that appeared to be offside but was not called by the officiating crew, and later added a third before halftime. To make things even more challenging, Bethany lost another player during the first half due to the high temperatures, finishing the game with only 11 players available.

In the second half, Friends extended their lead with four more goals, but Bethany continued to show great effort and character throughout the match. Goalkeeper Marie Miera y Moseley stood out with an impressive 8 saves, while several players pushed through despite not being at 100%, demonstrating their commitment to the team and the program.
