LINDSBORG, Kan. (bethanyswedes.com) – On Wednesday night the Swedes kicked off against the York University Panthers.
The Swedes came out strong to play their senior night. Senior Emily Mockricky took a shot but it was blocked by the York keeper. In the 19th minute Senior Forward Danielle McSeveney scored the first goal for the Swedes with an assist from Paige Henry. Senior Melissa Estrada took a shot that was blocked by the York keeper.
In the second half Skyler Armstrong had two shots blocked by the keeper. Senior Lyric Green took a shot that was blocked by the York keeper. Senior Melissa Estrada had an additional 3 shots on goal that hit the crossbar. Senior Emily Mockricky had a shot that was also saved by the keeper. Skyler Armstrong scored the second goal for the Swedes in the 76th minute off of a header with an assist from Devynn Knipp.
The Swedes had a total of 12 shots on goal compared to York’s 3 shots on goal. Goal Keeper for the Swedes Mackenzie Nutter had a total of 2 saves for the game. The Swedes fought hard and secured a 2-0 win for senior night.
