Swedes Take Series Win With Dominant Game Three Win

Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes closed out their weekend series in strong fashion, earning a 10–1 victory in game three to secure the series win 2–1 over York University. Bethany used timely hitting and dominant pitching to take control early and never look back.

The Swedes jumped on the board quickly, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding four more in the third to build a commanding lead. Yan Ortiz led the offense with an impressive 3-for-5 performance, scoring twice and adding a double. Will Parsons had a huge day at the plate, driving in four RBIs, including a triple that helped break the game open.

Jesuel Cruz also delivered a standout performance, going 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Eduardo Tarafa added two hits and a run scored. Manny Gonzalez and Stephen Kent each drove in a run as Bethany totaled 13 hits in the win.

On the mound, Jan Maldonado-Cruz was dominant, throwing 8.0 innings and allowing just one run while striking out seven. His command and efficiency kept York off balance all afternoon. Noah Hargrove closed out the final inning to secure the win.

With the victory, the Swedes take the series and build momentum heading into their next road test.
