Winfield, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes took a trip to Winfield, Kan. to partake in their final night game of the season against the No. 17-ranked Southwestern College Moundbuilders.
The Swedes would get on the board in the third quarter via a 14-yard rush by Carlos Leonard Jr., but it would not matter much as that made the score 70-8. Josiah Hardrick would tack on one more score, but the Swedes would ultimately fall 80-14. 80 points are the most points given up by the Swedes since Coach Grossner took over at the helm.
Josiah Hardrick would lead the ground attack with 60 yards and a score followed by Carlos Leonard Jr. with 52 yards and a score. Daniel Smith would lead the receiving corps in both receptions (6) and yards (58).
As for defense, Cooper Bogenhagen would lead the Swedes in tackles with six. Malcolm Jones recorded two pass breakups while James Sully tallied the lone sack for the Swedes resulting in a 15-yard loss.
As a team, Bethany only mustered 228 yards of total offense while averaging 3.0 yards per play. The Swedes allowed 698 yards of offense from the statistically best offense in the KCAC.

The Swedes have one more test before entering divisional play. Saturday, October 4, the Swedes will play host to the McPherson College Bulldogs. The Cross-County Clash is set to kickoff at 1:00 PM.
