Hillsboro, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Women’s Soccer team closed out their road slate with a 5–1 defeat at Tabor College on Wednesday afternoon, in a match played under cool temperatures and a noticeable breeze that affected play, especially in the first half.

Bethany started the match well, organized and compact, and created some danger. Tabor opened the scoring in the 9th minute and then stretched the lead to 4–0 before the half after a series of strong attacking sequences. Despite the early deficit, the Swedes kept their composure and continued to battle tactically and collectively.

The match featured a significant lineup change before kickoff: starting goalkeeper Miera Y. Moseley was sidelined for part of the game due to an arm issue, and Mackenzie Nutter stepped into goal- her natural position. Nutter answered the call with a strong performance, finishing the match with eight saves while facing constant pressure from the Bluejays. After Bethany steadied the game, they found a positive moment in the 33rd minute when, following a scramble and series of rebounds in the box, Marie Y. Moseley—who had come into the match 5 minutes before —converted to score Bethany’s lone goal. That strike marked the program’s first goal in nine matches and provided a much-needed lift for the roster.

In the second half, Tabor added one more goal to close out the 5–1 result. Even with the scoreline, Bethany showed signs of growth: disciplined defending at times, attacking intent in pockets, and clear effort from the full squad despite limited rotations and adverse conditions.
