Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Women’s Basketball team took a trip down to Winfield, Kan. to take on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in what was both teams final conference game of the calendar year.
The Swedes found their rhythm after a rough first quarter, but steadily turned the tide over in the final three periods, winning all of them. The Swedes delivered their best stretch of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Moundbuilders 30-22 behind 60% shooting from the floor.
Colbi Rignell led the charge with 17 points, five assists, five rebounds, and three steals. Lilyan Walden poured in 16 points while Hannah Moss tacked on 12. Janae Black-Harmon continued to show her dominance with yet another double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds). Chloe Percy went a perfect five-for-five from the floor to score 12 points.
Ball movement was key for the Swedes as they tallied 25 assists; the most in a game all year. Capitalizing on turnovers also worked in favor of the Swedes as they forced 15 turnovers which transformed into 22 points.

The Swedes will play an exhibition contest on Monday, December 15, against Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. to face off against previous head women’s basketball coach Keith Ferguson.
