The Bethany College Swedes dropped a 71–54 conference contest Wednesday night inside Hahn Gymnasium despite several strong individual efforts. Bethany battled throughout the game and showed flashes offensively but was unable to overcome a tough second quarter.
Hannah Moss led the Swedes with 14 points, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and adding two assists and three steals. Her activity on both ends helped Bethany stay competitive, especially coming out of halftime when the Swedes shot 50 percent in the third quarter. Becca Unruh added eight points, going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line while contributing three assists and two blocks in a solid all-around performance.
Tayten Dewey provided energy off the bench, finishing with six points and a team-high seven rebounds, while Ray Richardson scored six points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting night in limited minutes. Lilyan Walden chipped in six points and three rebounds as Bethany worked to generate offense and create second-chance opportunities.
The Swedes forced turnovers and turned them into 19 points, showing defensive effort throughout the contest. While the result was not what Bethany hoped for, the team continues to compete and prepare for the final stretch of conference play.
