The Bethany College Swedes continued conference play Saturday afternoon, battling through four quarters before falling 87–60 to Evangel inside Hahn Gymnasium. Despite the final score, Bethany showed fight throughout the contest and received strong individual performances from several key contributors.
Colbi Rignell led the Swedes offensively with 15 points, shooting an efficient 7-for-10 from the field while adding six assists and setting the tone on both ends of the floor. Janae Black-Harmon followed with 15 points of her own, converting all five of her free-throw attempts and providing a physical presence in the paint. Lilyan Walden chipped in 10 points and six rebounds, knocking down two three-pointers and helping Bethany stretch the floor offensively.
Bethany stayed competitive early, matching Evangel’s pace in the first half and continuing to attack offensively in the third quarter. The Swedes moved the ball well, finishing with 11 assists, and showed discipline defensively while rotating through multiple lineups. Hannah Moss added energy with three assists and a block, while Halle Jones provided quality minutes off the bench.
Although the outcome did not go Bethany’s way, the Swedes continue to build experience and confidence in conference play as they prepare for the next challenge.
