Lindsborg, Kan. – In one of the most exciting matches of the season, the Bethany College volleyball team stormed back from a two-set deficit to complete a dramatic reverse sweep over Tabor College (23–25, 27–29, 25–23, 25–15, 15–10) on Wednesday night inside Hahn Gymnasium.

The Swedes refused to back down after dropping two tightly contested sets, flipping the momentum in the third behind a surge of energy from setter Ashlynn Gehring, who recorded her sixth triple-double of the season with 12 kills, 23 assists, and 30 digs. Gehring’s leadership on both sides of the ball sparked a complete team turnaround as Bethany settled into rhythm offensively and tightened up defensively.

Blanca Ariciniega Palma led the attack with 17 kills on a .261 hitting percentage, while Jordyn Carpenter added 16 kills and 25 digs for her own double-double performance. Antonette Carochi contributed six kills and a pair of blocks in the middle, while Michelle Acevedo Ortiz anchored the back row with a team-high of 32 digs and two service aces.

After hitting just .137 through the first two sets, Bethany found its groove late — finishing with a .273 clip in the third and a dominant .225 mark in the fourth to seize control. The Swedes carried that confidence into the fifth, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back as the home crowd roared them to victory. The comeback win marks a statement performance for the resilient Swedes, who continue to showcase their growth and determination late in the KCAC season.

Up next, the Swedes are on the road in Winfield, Kan., taking on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders, Saturday, November 1st starting at 5pm.
