Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes men’s soccer team hosted Bethel College on Wednesday evening at Coach Ted Kessinger Family Stadium, playing to an intense and competitive 1–1 draw.

The Threshers started stronger in the first half, controlling possession and sending several long balls forward. The Bethany defense held firm through the opening stages, showing good organization and communication. However, in the 18th minute, Bethel found the opener after a sequence of rebounds inside the box.

The Swedes responded well, staying composed and growing into the match. Just before halftime—around the 40th minute—Baptista Amofa produced a moment of brilliance, scoring a stunning strike from outside the box that left the goalkeeper with no chance, sending the teams into the break tied 1–1.

The second half was evenly matched, with both sides creating opportunities. Bethany looked more dangerous in transition and had several promising counterattacks, while Bethel threatened mostly from set pieces and long deliveries. Despite both teams pushing for a winner, the score remained unchanged.

While the Swedes may feel they could have taken all three points, the performance once again showed that the team can compete with any opponent in the conference.
