Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Men’s Soccer team hosted the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes on Wednesday evening at the Coach Ted Kessinger Family Stadium, falling 4–1 in a KCAC matchup.

The Coyotes took an early lead, scoring in the 4th and 10th minutes after defensive lapses by the Swedes. Despite the tough start, Bethany began to settle into the match, finding better rhythm and even creating a few dangerous chances midway through the first half, including one disallowed goal that could have changed the game’s momentum.

Kansas Wesleyan extended its lead shortly after halftime through a corner kick and a penalty, making it 4–0. From that point on, the Swedes responded with more composure and intensity, generating several offensive opportunities. Their efforts were rewarded late in the match when senior Steven McQueen connected with a header off a long free kick from Preston Vincent, sealing the final 4–1 scoreline.

Although the result was not favorable, the Swedes displayed signs of growth and improvement, particularly in the second half, showing they can compete against teams higher up in the standings.
